Who We Are

10 Dreams for GraceBridge

The GraceBridge vision:

To simply be a family of God...called, saved and unified by Jesus Christ. We want to

live in worship, serve in love, walk more closely with God and each other every day,

and make disciples of all nations.

10 Dreams for GraceBridge:

We dream of a church family whose hearts beat as one in rhythm with God’s; whose pulse quickens at the thought of His goodness and glory, revealed in Jesus Christ; whose message of love, salvation, and peace flows naturally out of our lives as we are transformed daily by the Living Word and His Holy Spirit; whose goal is to go home to be with our Father and help lead as many as possible home with us.

We dream of a band of prayer warriors—each of us individually and all of us in concert—who continually offer our prayers as sweet-smelling incense to God, declaring His glory, exclaiming our gratitude, repenting of sin, inquiring for wisdom, and interceding for the hearts and lives of others; who know that we can go to Him anytime about anything, convinced that He listens to us in love.

We dream of a community of saved sinners who still marvel at the amazing grace that rescued us and goes on cleansing us, who in overflowing gratitude share the good news of Jesus Christ with other sinners, who show one another how to lovingly share Jesus with everyone in our lives, who know and help others know that our Father really lives and will work directly in our lives because He loves us as His children, who understand that one of our most important tasks is to encourage one another because of Jesus.

We dream of a church where Jesus Christ really is our Savior, Leader, and Friend; where the freedom that Jesus promises (and that He bought with His blood) is very evident; where the patterns of man never interfere with our freedom in Christ.

We dream of a safe haven for believers, for seekers, and for unbelievers who do not yet know Whom they need to seek—a place of abounding openness, acceptance, and love where people experience the breathtaking beauty of God’s koinonia (intimate fellowship/community) and realize what is missing in their own lives; where by the power of God’s love we have set aside our masks and torn down the walls of prejudice, intolerance, and cliquish behavior that would prevent others from joining our journey; where we see Jesus in one another’s hearts and lives; where others are drawn naturally and powerfully (as if by vacuum force) into our family, because we are operating in love, simply because God is love and has shown His love to us through His Son.

We dream of a many-membered body whose Head is Jesus Christ—with eyes that see clearly, ears that listen attentively, hands that serve patiently, arms that embrace warmly, feet that go where the Lord leads, and mouths that speak grace and truth into a broken world—a church where everyone feels useful, wanted, and loved; where everyone can see how important they are to God and to their fellow members.

We dream of a spiritual village that helps us encourage and teach our children—a joyful environment where children and their parents can see and come to know Jesus, where parents understand that the most important thing they can give their children is Jesus, where children are taught how God’s great love, power, and principles will bless their lives and lead them home.

We dream of a fellowship of kingdom people—disciples of Jesus who know that God’s kingdom is far greater than GraceBridge (extending to all Christ-followers everywhere) and smaller than GraceBridge (reaching deeply into each heart that personally surrenders to the King of kings and Lord of lords); who live in peace with one another because the God of peace is always with us, helping us expend the love and great effort required to achieve and sustain harmony; who always give our Father the credit, honor, and glory for all that He does in and through and for us.

We dream of Sunday gatherings that simply reflect the worship we live every day—where the work of the Holy Spirit is more evident than the efforts of any man or woman; where our songs of joyous, exuberant praise harmonize with the quality of our lives; where prayers are offered humbly to beseech God rather than proudly to impress other people; where Biblical truths are shared in grace and power so that we all may be encouraged, edified, exhorted, and convicted as God knows our needs; where our communion with Christ and one another reflects our fellowship of the week before and the week ahead; where we have planned and prepared for guests to join us and where they feel genuinely welcome; where God is glorified in all we say and do.

We dream of a shared pilgrimage—the joy of fellowship in Jesus Christ and mutual support in good and bad times—so that we, our children, our grandchildren, and generations not yet born may experience a piece of heaven on earth as we journey with anticipation to God’s great gathering in our eternal home.

These dreams are shared with our GraceBridge family in the belief and hope that they will resonate with you, and they are lifted as prayers to our gracious Father, Jehovah God, in hope that He will always be the Provider and Fulfiller of all our dreams. In the holy and powerful Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Lord, and King—Amen.
